I just joined the forum today since I need help myself but it sounds like it needs a motor. Course I am no serv tech but I seem to be the only one replying to your post. I cant imagine this prob not being mentioned before. After many years in the service ind. I handled hundreds of these calls.

WoW! There is somebody out there! Thanks for the reply Wendlynb. I don't think it's the motor though because you can hear the motor but the agitator don't move. I was wondering if washing machines still use belts or are they all gear drivin' these days???

I believe they are all direct drive at least all of the ones we delt with in the past 10 years or so were and we only used whirlpool (domestic) and maytag (commercial). Ya know the motor can hum and still be bad though. If the motor is okay then it could be that the timer isnt advancing or a transmission. Like I said I am not a tech by any means but I just couldnt imagine no one responding to your post.
