Hello,

I have tried to find information on this model bosch but it appears that I might be the only person in the english speaking world who owns one...

I was told that the "pump" was broken. More than that, I had no data. It appears to run for about an hour and twenty minutes, but I never hear the drain pump start up (and, of course, it never drains). It just sucks in water, runs for a while, pauses for a minute or so, and then seems to run again.

So I have a couple of questions:

Is there a recommended way to diagnose this issue?
Is there a place to get a service manual for this machine? (I think I may have found one for $10... should I buy it?)
Is it trying to drain during those silent pauses every so often?
Does anyone have any guesses as to where the problem may lie?
Does anyone know about when this model was being manufactured?
Does anyone anywhere actually own one of these (or do they never break down...)

Thanks for any and all help!
Ben

Update 6/20/2011:

I finally decided to just sell the thing. I don't have the time to fix it. Anything special I should tell the buyers about this model? Anything I should let them know about the possible repairs?

Hello,
The unit should drain upon start up, as well as a few times throughout the cycle. There's also a cancel/drain feature you can activate by pressing/holding the two outside cycle buttons.

The best way to check the drain is to measure its resistance, which should be 17 ohms. Also, if your comfortable checking voltage, you can check the two wires on the drain for 120vac when you cancle/drain a cycle.

The drain is located behind the to kick, on the front/left side of the sump. There will be a hose you'll have to remove to get to it.

This unit was made between 2001 and 2003, but I can give you an exact year and month using the first 4 digits of the FD number.

Servicer,

Thanks for the quick reply. I will check the resistance and voltages like you suggested and report back here.

Well, it has been a while and I never got around to looking into it. Now I am just going to sell it as is.

Any information about this model or the repair I should pass on to the buyers?

Thanks again for you help even though I never was able to act on it.

Ben
