what is the breaker and wire size required to run Model number JENN-AIR SCE30600B Range ? the distance to the breaker box is approximately 30 feet. I was told this is a 6800 watt range, 240 volt.

Most ranges use a 2 pole-50 amp breaker, #6 aluminum range cable (3 individual wires with ground) or #8 Cu 4 wire. Either will do for a 30' distance. To be sure you have the right size wire do a little math.

Wattage of the Range= Current x Voltage

soooo... divide the Wattage by the voltage to get your current flow.

Then round up for safety! If the current comes out to 42 Amps use a 50 amp breaker.

Hope this helps!
