I came home last night to find a mess on the floor. Maytag quit working. Pulled off the back cover and found fan at condensor coil working, but pump not working. Pump was warm, however. Unplugged the machine and allowed to cool. When plugged in, pump would sound like it was running, then the the overload relay would shut it off. It would kinda run for about 20 seconds. I'm wondering if the problem is a bad capacitor or weak overload relay. Please advise where to start on this. Thanks, Dave

Thanks, Dave Dave, You're on track, I would start at the compressor relay / overload assembly as well, Part number: AP4009660
You could have other problems, but with your description, and the circumstances, that's where I would start. :) :) :)

HI, Thanks for the advise, Do you think I should change the capacitor also? I ordered the kit as you recommended, maybe I can catch the order and add a capacitor if you think i need one. Tx Dave

Tx Dave Dave, Unless it's burnt or blown apart,or if the wires are melted, I doubt if you will need it.
