Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 10/17/2010(UTC) Posts: 1		so i have this magic chef fridge that was given to me from a friend, the proble that this fridge has is as fallows; when i open the doors the freezer is not cold and as well witht the other side i moved the numbers from 1 to 9 and no luck. i checked the back and the fan is running, the compressor is working as well because its warm i touched it and it feels like its working but other than that i dont know what the problem might be any idea what might be>? appreciating all help i can get. thanks:) serial # 11147469um model #csb2121arw

If it worked OK for him, did you leave the fridge upright for 24 hours after the move before plugging it in. If not unplug it and try that. Is the evaporator fan running when the compressor is running? Remove the evaporator cover in the freezer so you can see the coils. Since the compressor is running they should have frost on then. If no frost then the compressor is shot or you are out of freon. If there is frost in just one area or it is very blotchy, then you are probably low on freon. Due to the cost of fixing either of the above problems you are usually better off replacing the unit. If it is a freon leak this can be difficult to find and you need a pro to recharge the unit.
