Hello- I have a two year old GE side by side refrigerator and it sounds like the evaporator motor needs replacing. I recorded the sound on my iPhone and showed it to a refrigerator repair man in my town and he quoted me $300 bucks to order the part and install it. I found the part here for $60. AP3191003
My question is how difficult is that motor to install? I'm horrible with most home projects but wanted to know if a handy man could handle it or do i really need a trained refrigerator professional.
Thoughts
Thanks, Kevin

You may want to read through the following http://forum.appliancepartspros...or-test-replacement.htmlIf your quote was far a new fan and control board it may be your best bet. Replacing it is not that difficult but determining if it is just the fan and/or the control board does take some knowledge of using the meter. Usually both need replacing. |
