We just got a water line installed. Initially when I hooked it up I could hear the icemaker making/dumping ice. But then the housing of the water dispenser started to leak a little (not the tube/dispenser itself but behind the plastic housing). I replaced the water inlet valve and that seemed to fix the leaking. Stuff in the icemaker area was all frozen over, so I defrosted some of it with a hairdryer.

Everything seems fine except that now it won't dump ice on its own unless I pull the plastic sensor arm/paddle forward. Once I pull it forward it senses that the bin is not full, dumps, and makes ice again, but the arm never returns to the forward position for days at a time until I pull it forward myself.

Any ideas what might be going on?
Thanks in advance! (Brand is GE, not Frigidaire)

There is a spring that is most likely out of place. It could be broken but typically it will just be out of place. There is a hole in the arm and a hole in the icemaker. One end if the spring fits into the hole in the arm and the other in the icemaker. There is a picture on this page that shows what I am talking about. GE Icemaker Repair Guide

It seems that this was the problem. The spring was out of place. Thank you so much. I'll definitely be back here in the future if I need to order a part. Thanks again.
