dryer wont heat fully, will run forever if I dont shut it down. The timed heat cycle shuts off after the cycle is timed out, but the clothes arent dry. Is this a thermastat issue or the element. It never gets hot enough to dry the load. Gas dryer btw

Jack,

Sounds more like and exhaust vent problem(clogged, kinked, vent hood blocked etc.)

That's where I would start, if it were me.
