Hello,
I have a Bosch SHU4306 dishwasher. In the past I have successfully repaired the solder joint on the control panel. I now have a new issue. The water is not heating up properly. The DW cycles through a complete cleaning clycle, but the water is not hot like it used to be. When I run the diagnostic I do not get any indication of error. Could this be the NTC? The heater? Control Panel?

What's the temperature of the water as it comes out of the tap?

The water can be tepid or up to 120 deg if we remember to run the hot water first. As an fyi I get a reading of 7.6 Kohms across the thermistor. seems low, but would this show up on the diagnostic?

Something like a failing or failed component would show up on a diagnostic test as a fault or error; as long as the main control is functioning properly. Your tap water should be at least 140 degrees, though, and may be the cause of the problem. You may try turning up the heat on your water heater; but be careful that you don't have it so hot that anyone in the house gets scalded in the shower, or at the lavs.

Something still seems wrong. The DW has always worked with the domestic hot water as it is now. For some reason the water isn't heating in the DW. I am not sure if it is the Heating unit in the DW or the NTC. Would a faulty NTC allow the DW to cycle through a complete wash cycle even though the proper water temperature hasn't been reached? How does the control unit know when the proper temperature has been reached?

The thermister communicates the water temperature to the control board. Have you checked the integrity of the heating element?

Bosch dishwashers are really restrictive, as far as accessing the parts. You parctically need to uninstall them every time you work on them. I'm not a Bosch expert; I have heard that you don't want to flip it on its back (although this has not been verified). The terminals on the heating element can be identified as you compare where they go through the inside. Take at least one of the connectors off and check the continuity of the element.

So, the heater ohms out ok. The room temperature reading for the NTC is 7.5Kohms. Much lower than what the Bosch manual specifies. What would be the symptoms of a NTC (thermistor) that has too low of a resistance reading?

That would indicate a bad thermistor. That's probably why you're not getting heat.
