You either aren't getting cold water to the unit through the supply hose; or, more likely, your water inlet valve needs to be replaced. You may try cleaning the sediment out of the inlet valve, but you will either just delay the inevitable, or you'll make the problem worse by poking a hole in the screen.

this is Ralph DiSimone, Sad to report that the replacement of the hot/cold water valve to correct the rinse problem has not corrected the problem which remaines then same as if the new valve I purchased from your organization had not been installed. So, my next question is: by process of elimination we ought to be able to tell what is the next thing in the electronics control panel that may be at fault why the warm/cold, hot/cold and cold/cold button settings do not trigger any of the three rinse cycles?

....... By the way as I was accessing the old valve I noticed that it was sparkless with not a trace of mineral deposits we were anticipating. But I went:o :o ahead to remove it and install the new valve I just purchased anyway.UserPostedImage

I'm really sorry you didn't mention the lack of deposits in the cold water inlet, before committing to a meaningless purchase. Do you have a way of checking the voltage at the valve when RINSE is selected?

This is Ralph answering your question regarding "If have the way of checking the voltage at the valve when rinze is selected". Following the installation of the new valve, I reassembled the washer completely before testing it. The valve is now burried behind the inpenetrable back piece of steel. I must say that the Whirlpool engineers have produced a piece of works not intended to be serviced by an amatur and they achieved just that. But the electronic control can be easily accessed by the removal of two scrues. The culprit must be in there that sends the message to the valve below. This is my way of thinking. If you follow me, you may have an answer.

Once you have removed the cabinet to access the parts (you obviously had no touble doing that, since you successfully replaced the water valve), all you need to do is bypasss the lid switch by jumping between the terminals in the connector. Then the machine is fully operational. Just remember that you're dealing with live voltage. You may be right about the control; but the timer may be at fault. The only way to figure out which component is giving you problems, without throwing money at the repair, is to test them with a meter. If you're not sure of your ability to do this, there's no shame in involving a pro.
