The door handle on my dryer door cracked so I ordered a new one. I can't figure out how to get the door handle to stay on. It fits into the hole loosely and keeps falling out. As far as I can tell, there is no clip or anything to make it stay in.
Any help with this would be appreciated!

It doesn't seem like it would help to take the door apart. The part fits into the hole from the outside - so I am not sure what I would gain by taking it apart. The problem is not that I can't get it into the hole - the opposite. The hole actually has two wider openings at the top - as if the replacement part should have two tabs sticking out to hold it in place and that it would be installed by sliding in one part and then moving it over and sliding in the other part. The replacement part has no tabs, it fits into the hole loosely - and keeps falling out. My husband wants to glue the handle onto the dryer door - can you see a reason that we shouldn't do that - and do you have a suggestion what would be the best adherent?

If that's what you have to do: I really don't see any reason you wouldn't be able to glue it on. I would use a high-temperature rated adhesive that can attach plastic and metal.
