The defrost heater wraps around the evaporator coil in back of my Kitchen Aid refridgerator and I cannot figure out how to get it out. It's blocked by other tubing.

Why do you need to do it?

Have you checked the heater for continuity?

What exactly is wrong with the refrigerator?

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL KSRS27QDWH00 | AppliancePartsPros.com

The continuity of the heater is infinity and the freezer thermo is positive. I just need some advice on how to remove the heater and replace it.
Curiosity has gotten me. Are you a physical person or a computer named "Gene?" When do you sleep? Jerry

Mr. Gene:
I've asked you about my Kitchen Aid fridge #KSRS27QDWHOO and it's freezer problems. I don't believe my unit has a heater timer on it. Can't find it on the parts diagram. Also, what is the "adaptive defrost control" as listed on the parts list? Jerry

Jerry,

You are right. There is no defrost timer in this refrigerator. The adaptive defrost control is the electronic part which controls the defrost cycle.

The defrost heater access instructions are attached to the reply.

Gene.

P.S. I'm very real person. All people appreciated my volunteering on this forum make me energized like the Energizer Bunny. :)
