I wish to replace the freezer light switch (Part number AP4008827) but am unable to remove the old switch. I have tried sliding a blade under the switch faceplate but it will not budge. Should I be applying more force or is there another way to proceed?

Here's your switch. You can see from the different views of it that there are tabs that latch it to the refrigerator body. First, unplug the unit. Then, gently pry along the sides of the switch as you also exert an outward pressure on the flange. The switch will pop out, The replacement just pops back in. Part number: AP4127249

Thanks Magician 59. Once I removed the switch I found that the connectors were not seated properly. I reconnected them and the switch is now working fine.
