Out of nowhere our above range GE Spacemaker Microwave started making an alert in the middle of the night a few nights ago and the error message on the screen read "F3." When we researched it we found two solutions: the Smartboard or the Touch Control Panel...We bought the smartboard and installed it and that didn't work so we're thinking it's the touch cntrol panel but want to be sure before spending more money and possibly making another mistake. Can anyone out there offer thoughts, advice & possibly solutions?

Thank you in advance!

CK,

My failure code data sheet for GE products indicate, you have a bad touchpad assembly

Part number: AP3860547
Part number: AP3860547

I would have reccomended you start with a new touchpad assembly, instead of a control board.

The pad assembly, is subjected to more physical use and outside sources(heat, chemicals etc.)damage than the control board assembly.

I'm sure you'll be fine after you install the new pad assembly.

Good Luck,
:) :) :)

Before we purchase this part we just want to make sure it's Black & Stainless being that there's no pictures Im scared of making another mistake, do you have a picture of this part to compare with our existing?
I truly appreciate your time and help and I hope this solves our nightmare.

Thanks again, Chris

Chris,

Sorry,

I can't get a picture of the part for you.

I even used the GE parts description screens,

But it is the only part number listed for the touchpad assembly for your unit(in all my available data screens).

Good Luck,

:) :) :)
