Need help with washer issues. Whirlpool Duet washer has been acting up. First started with code F71. Unplugged and code went away then nothing lit up. Machine would only make tone when pushing start. Unplugged for several days and plugged back in. The washer lit up like a christmas tree. Pushed cancel, then used machine as if nothing happened. Warrenty through Lowes. Service was already scheduled. Board was replaced. Machine worked for 3 days then just stopped working. No lights-nothing, just the tone when trying to start. Unplugged for several minutes-nothing. Left unplugged a day, plugged back in-again nothing. Left plugged in and called about warranty and have new service pending and another board being ordered. Code F71 showed up on machine a day later. Unplugged for several days, still waiting for repair. Plugged in this morning and the washer lit up again. Again-pushed cancel and then tried and behold ! , the washer is working again and service is pending as they have another board ordered. I need help figuring this out. Is the board bad? Why does the machine work, then quit, then work again after no power and showing F71?

These machines are very difficult to diagnose, thanks to Whirlpool's complex design.

Since you already have the service folks involved I would press them to finish the job and fix it. If you still have problems let us know what happened and post a complete model number.
