Fridge was warm (freezer fine), so had a repairman out. I (like many others) have a bad motherboard and also a bad evaporator fan (one burned out the other).
I'm thinking of replacing both, but I'm wondering---my freezer is sometimes not as cold as it should be (top of my ice is wet, like it's starting to thaw). Will replacing the board and fan fix this, or is this another problem?
Thanks for your help!

The board controls everything so it could fix your second problem which may be related to the fan not coming on after a defrost cycle. The only way to tell is to try replacing the board and fan. |

What's left running seems to go noisy sometimes (unless it's my "broken" fan coming on intermittently). All sounds like it's on the right side of the fridge (looking at the door). Given the age of my frige and the weak boards, do you think it's worth the repair ? I really like the frige, but I don't want to be redoing this in two years.

Another quick question--when you look at the parts list there's a board and then something called a "harness board indiv". Anyone know what this is? Will I need to buy one of those too?
