Wirlpool SM8280867 - Agitates but nothing else, won't drain

I have a Whirlpool "Imperial Series" washer, lsn1000kq0. It will agitate if I set it on any of the wash settings, but once it gets past "light" it stops and makes a clicking/buzzing noise, which sounds like it's coming from inside the control panel, possibly the main dial. Sometimes when it reaches this point, it makes no sound at all. It won't drain either. I haven't had it apart yet. Thoughts?
Also, is there a prefered way to drain it?

I should also point out that it doesn't spin either.
Other searching suggests maybe it's the lid switch or the timer (ouch), but they were for different brands/models, so I don't know if it applies.
The main thing right now is to get it drained... it seems there should be a way to manually get it to drain for cases like this, without having to bail it...
