This morning the washer started emitting a low whine. Seems like the whine starts when the agitator starts and continues until the cycle finishes. I noticed that the clothes mover was not turning consistently. I pulled the agitator out and checked the dogs. They are worn, so I am ordering some new ones. However, I'm not sure that this has anything to do with the whine.

Could anyone give me an idea of what to look at next?
The washer appears to be running fine, the only issue is the whine. Agitator is churning and the tub spins without any noticeable issue.

I'm a computer guy by trade so you may need to use small words and type slowly.
Thanks in advance.

I am guessing the brakes are slipping. See Richappy's sticky at the top of this page for a good discussion on how to check things out.
