My Maytag Perfoma recently blew it's thermal fuse. Not wanting or able to buy a new dryer at the moment, I replaced both parts (the fuse and hi-limit) today. The dryer now works but it seems like it may be overheating.
Before I replaced the parts I cleaned out the vents and all around the coils and the such. The top of the dryer right above where the coils are gets really hot, so much so that you can't hold your hand on it too long.
I read some posts on here and thought that maybe there was a kink in the vent hose, so I pulled it away from the wall and it cooled off. Since I figured that this was what was wrong, I left it away from the wall and ran a load of clothes.
It's been running now about 30 minutes and it is extremely hot to the touch again. There are no weird smells or anything and it isn't shutting itself off.
I don't know if this is normal for the unit or not. I never had a reason to feel how hot it got before it broke down. Is there something else that could be going bad that I should replace? I don't want to blow the new fuse as well.
Thank you for your time.

You may want to open the blower housing and check the blower wheel. Make sure it's not slipping around the motor shaft. - The blower wheel Part number: AP4038939
