My Hotpoint refrigerator is not making any ice and it is not dispensing water. Can you please let me know what the problem is or how I can diagnose the problem?

Thank you,
Sam

Sam,

The first thing I would do is check the water pressure in the water line to the refrigerator.

How old the water filter? It has to be replaced every 6 months.

- The GE smartwater water filter Part number: AP3859302
Part number: AP3859302

If there is Culligan metal canister design filter, you have to order a special adapter.

- The filter adapter Part number: AP2615702
Part number: AP2615702

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for General Electric HSS25GFPHWW Refrigerator | AppliancePartsPros.com

The water filter replacement instructions are in the Owner manual.

The filter doesn't seem to be the problem, I just replaced it, and the water pressure appears to be fine. Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Sam

Sam,

Sounds like the next step is to replace the water inlet valve.

Sam,

What happens if you push the water or ice dispenser release?

Would the lights dim?

Did you hear any noise?
