New to the site... looking for help. Washer is fine when filling. Once it starts to agitate clothes or during spin cycle, it makes a horrible high pitched squealing noise. It becomes higher in pitch the faster it goes. Am I looking at a belt issue? Or due to the age, would it be cheaper to get a new washer?
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like a bad pump. Just remove pump and check for jammed pump. If it leaks water, replace it.
