I damaged the evaporator assy in the top freezer, and want to replace it with a new one. Can you tell me if that is something a non-professional can install? I am looking at my old one and can't quite figure out how it is attached. Is that just a snap in fitting? Is it soldered? Thank you for your help.

Dotto,

I'm sure this repair is something you should not get involved in,

A DIY'r is not prepared to do this repair themselves.

It involves refrigerant, solderring and cleaning the system.

Several specialty tools and meters and guages, to do the repair properly.

You may want to order the part through AppliancePartsPros.com, but leave the repair to a professional.
