I put on a new overload relay on the compressor. the compressor wiring his basically triangle shaped three contacts. One on the Bottom which is Common And a BLue wire goes to it. The other two contacts are I think start and run and these are on top. The problem I am having is that the compressor starts and runs with the two top wires hooked up to it either way One is a white wire and the other is two orange wires hooked together or a double orange wire orange. I know blue wire goes on bottom I think that start is the contact to the left side of the top two contacts and this contact is located towards the front of the fridge. and then the run would be to the right of the left contact, located towards the back of the fridge closest to the access hole. I hooked up the white wire to the front contact the double orange wire to the contact towards the back. Compressor ran checked with amp meter and all three wires were drawring around 1.8 amps. Compressor ran and cooled the freezer and refrigerator, and also compressor did cycle off and cycle back on. NOw according to the instrucitions I am suppose to put the double orange wire on the contact that is towards the front and the double orange towards the back, so I did this too and fridge is currently wired this way. And with the amp meter connected the wires draw about .08 for each wire. And the compressor cools the freezer and the refrigerator, But I have not been able to hear the compressor to cycle off. So compressor still running after 10 hours or so What is the correct way to hook up these to two wire the double orange and the white does any body know please help thank you

If you followed the instructions then you are ok. The wires from the fridg to the klixon overload and the start device are not polarity sensitive, you can wire them either way. However, it is important to plug in the run capacitor between the two start device pins. Your fridg. wiring probably does that, just check.

Thank you so much. The orange wire comes from two places one is connected to the capacitor. that orange wire is then connected to the other orange wire making it the double wire. The instructions are confusing and have a lead that plugs into one of the contacts and then has a smaller size female contact on the end. I could not see how I could use this at all so I left it out. I tried to access the instructions from the overload relay on this site but could not. One good thing was I discovered that the compressor and fans had turned off or cycled off. But they are back on now even though I did not open fridge. Is the compressor suppose to run that much Can I test by turning the fresh food control knob to a hotter temperature setting. Actually I tried this method once and the compressor did not turn off untill it was at the off position on the fresh food control knob. thank you again. If I hooked the tw top wires up in the wrong places would that cause the compressor to always run?

You might have refrigeration problems, post the freezer temperature.

Good work, everything now seems ok, you just had the control set too low, 30 degrees is way too low.
