Number 429 is the kit. The nut grader is the first thing to the left. It litterally grates small pieces of food and the like that gets stuck in that screen. First remove the nut grader. It inscrews the regular way to the left. The plastic screen needs to be removed clockwise. It is backwards threaded. Next remove the plastic washer. Next the impeller comes out it has right handed threads. Hold the shaft of the motor and turn the impeller to the left till it comes out. Once you have that out the next thing to do is remove the 3 phillips screws holding the pump housing to the motor. Then unscrew the seal from the motor shaft. Finally take a pair of pliers and pull the base of the seal off of the motor shaft. Directions come with the kit.The pump is gonna have to come off the motor because the shaft is gonna need to be sanded down. The shaft will need to be free of any rust or pocked marks or the new seal will leak. Note: If this sucker is old and has been leaking a long time then that seal ain't gonna want ta come right off. When installing the new seal and impeller do not over tighten these or the motor will bind and not run. Do not attempt to run the motor with thenew seal in it untill you have water in the pump. Good luck Jim(mission impossible)clogged vent.jpg
