Gas Dryer working fine.
Then, it would not start.
Checked electrical plug, pulled and replugged.
When pushing Start Button, you can feel that it seems to want to energize but nothing happesn.
Tried other dryer settings, Still Nothing.
Looking for hints.

Looking for hints. B Wall, What do you mean "you can feel that it seems to want to energize " ? What do you hear, or see that makes you believe this ? Several components are involved, when this unit is started, and we need a place to start. Thanks, :cool: :cool: :cool:

Several components are involved, when this unit is started, and we need a place to start.

:cool: :cool: :cool: Finally, got to do some measurements. What I mean is that the start button hums softly and you can feel a slight mechanical vibration, when pushed. It clicks when the control knob moves to an "off" position. I have checked the thermal fuse and it is shorted. I checked the 150 degree thermostat since I was there and it is shorted too. The 205 High Limit thermostat is shorted. Thermostat Heater measures 3,600 ohms. Interior Light is on when door is open and goes off when door switch is pushed in. Belt remains intact, but hard to get to Broken Belt Switch. (Assume it is okay). Hear the timer when control knob set to timed and other positions. It seems like it would be simple, since basically nothing runs in any position. Appreciated your help. :confused:

:confused: Ok, then, If you mean the meter reads closed (shorted) when you put the probes across the terminals of your thermostats then we're OK and we need to move to the timer and you'll have to get to that motor switch and motor. At the timer: Set the dial in a timed dry setting. With the Blue and Black wire removed, check for a closed circuit across the two timer terminals, With the Tan and White wires removed, check for a closed circuit across the two timer terminals. You can also check for 120 Volts AC from Ground to Blue and Ground to Black. *** Be careful not to short anything, including youself. *** Remove the red wires from the start switch and check for a closed circuit across the terminals of the switch when the start button is pressed. You can also check for 120 volts AC out of the switch to the motor on the red wire terminal to ground. That will eliminate the controls , you've eliminated the fuses and thermostats. That leaves : The belt switch The motor A broken, loose wire in the cabinet. Drop us a line and let us know how you did. :cool: :cool: :cool:

Looks like Timer is the problem.
Blue and BLack terminals measured open.
So did the Tan and White terminals.
The 120 voltage was okay.
And the Start switched Shorted when pushed.
