Our Kitchen Aid (Superba) refrigerator water dispenser has an intermittent leak. I read through various potsts and the 2 most common issues are

1. Air is trapped
2. Replace the water inlet valve

Before I go to #2, what I wanted to find out was does air get trapped in the lines periodically i.e. if I get the air out (by dispensing 1 gallon or 2 of water), should that permanently solve this problem ? I did that a week ago and all was good until last night when there was a slow drip - we don't use the dispensor that often - so it is the air or is it something else ?

Thx,

Sounds like the water line from the water inlet valve to the water dispenser is not air tight. I would check the water tank (#31 on the diagram) and its connections first.

Thanks Gene. I will look into that. I am assuming the water tank is accessable from the back - do I need to remove the solenoid value, etc before I can access it or is there an easier way ?

The water tank is inside the refrigerator, behind the lower drawer.

Gene,

My model number is KSRS25FGBL01. When I looked inside, the 2 ends of the "coiled tube" (reservoir) were going into the bottom of the refrigerator so there was no way for me to access the bottom without opening from behind - am I doing something wrong ?

Thx,
Gene

My previous replies were based on the model number you posted earlier. This model has redesigned and improved water reservoir but the most possible cause of such problem is still the same - not air tight water line.

You have to check everything accessible. I hope the problem is not inside the body of the refrigerator.
