I have a Whirlpool model LEC8858DQ0. I went through the complete sequence with a meter and find no problem with power at wall or terminal strip, and continuity on thermostats, thermal fuse, or heating coil. The lint path is clean and I am stumped! Thanks for the tremendous help!

Here are your parts Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL LEC8858DQ0 | AppliancePartsPros.comHere is the wiring diagram http://www.servicematters.com/docs/wiring/Wiring%20Sheet%20-%203401725.pdfJust a couple things to start. 1. Did you remove the wiring from at least one side of any device you were measuring for continuity. This prevents you from reading an alternate/parallel circuit path. 2. Set the unit on timed dry mid scale, unplug the unit, remove the wires from one of the connectors and measure the timer switch 2 contacts. Should be 0 ohms. 3. You could attach (tape) one meter lead to the L1 at the timer or even the line cord and leave it there. Then work your way back through the heater circuit component by component starting with timer switch 2. If everything looks OK till you get to the right hand side of the heater (re: in the wiring diagram) then all that is left is a bad heater centrifugal switch or a wire in that last bit of circuit. There may be a bad switch or a mechanical problem with the centrifugal mechanism in the unit. |

Yes...I did remove wiring. I have yet to remove timer cover but it doesn't appear too difficult. I assume that I need to get to the motor. Is that best to get at from the back of the dryer?[/LIST]Thanks very much!
