Motor runs tub rotates. The dryer is not heating. Heating Element is measuring 10 Ohms and but is only getting 58V AC. checked the feed coming from the top of the dryer to the 1st temp switch on the vent and there is only 58V coming down from above. Need a service manual/wire schematic to go further

Check your timer. Find the wire going from timer to heating element. Remove the wire. Clamp your ohm meter at that point and measure ohms resistance on all other terminals of the timer at all positions on the dial. If cannot get an ohms reading then your timer contacts are fried. Here are your parts Replacement parts for AMANA LED20AW Dryer - Ele | AppliancePartsPros.comHere is a manual http://www.servicematters.com/maytag_library/docs/RS3200005R2.pdfYou did not say but have you checked the power going into the unit. Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times, sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!! |
