There are 2 black wires and 2 white wires that go to my dishwasher door switch that I am replacing. The black wires are hot. How do I know which contacts to connect them to? Does it make a differance?

A model number may help others help you.

Usually the 2 black go to one switch and the 2 whites to the other, you probably already know this but I am just making sure.

It does not matter which side the wires go on.
Note: This assumes that the switches just have 2 connectors and not 3.
