I meant the water valve solenoid which should be on the back of the refrigerator behind the cover. The incoming water line should be connected to this water valve.

Gene,

I checked the valves in the back of the fridge with my multimeter. There are a total of four valves, two blue and two red. The two blue ones read 168 ohms for the first valve and 338 ohms for the second valve. The red valves didn't register any resistance for either valve. I hope that the red valves are what controls the water to the ice maker and the blue valves control the water for the door. If that is true, then I am certain this is the reason why my new ice maker isn't making any ice. Please let me know if you agree so that I can order the replacement part.

Thanks,

Al.

You can easy find out if these coils are for the ice maker by the size of the plastic tubes connected. 1/4" - ice maker, 5/16" - water dispenser.

Gene,

The red coils are indeed the 1/4" ones. Therefore, they go to the ice maker. I will order the part and update the thread if all goes well. Thanks for all your help.

Al,

I'm glad you were able to fix it.
