Electric dryer won't start without assistance by turning the drum, then operates fine. I followed advice on previous posts with no luck. Should tension on the belt be adjusted? If so, how? How can I check to see if felt or other items obstructing drum? Suggestions would be appreciated.

The symptons indicate your motor is failing. Your better decision may be replacing the machine.
