washer will not complete cycle without help. Washer will fill and begin cycle then stop half way between normal wash and rinse. It will not cont. cycle until I open lid or bang on top of washer. It usually takes opening the lid a couple of times or a couple of bangs on top or side to get cycle started again. The cycle will then run to completion. The problem happens in both regular and delicate settings.

The first thing I would do is open the control panel, unplug the lid switch wire harness, bypass the lid switch (#11 on the break down diagram) and run a full cycle. Post the results. Gene.

I took closer look at lid switch after receiving your advice and found it was not fully closed when lid was down. There is a audible click when switch is closed. It did not click unless I pushed down on lid directly over lid switch. I ran a cycle and washer stopped at same point it usually does. This time I did not bang on lid but just pushed down on the lid directly over switch. The cycle started back up and finished. Does this mean the switch is bad or just needs adjusted? Is there something I can do to fix without replacing switch? If no, how much is switch and how difficult is it to replace?

The lid switch is bad and it has to be replaced. No doubt about it. You have to remove the washer cabinet (instructions attached) in order to replace the lid switch which is not too difficult job. You can buy the lid switch on this web site for $24.32 - The part number for the lid switch is AP3094500 Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool washer Model LSR7233BN2Gene.

Gene, I did finally replaced the lid switch and things are working fine. Thanks for the advice. I have another question concerning washer. Is there a grease fitting on direct drive gears that would allow me to grease them? rcubed

No, this washer does not need any maintenance. I would recommend to use Washer Magic to keep the washer clean and your clothes smell fresh. Gene.

What is the complete model number of the washer?

I am having a similar issue. The cycle starts, fills, agitates, drains and rinses but doesn't spin (so the clothes are left in a heaping pile of wet). My machine is less than 2 years old. This is very frustrating as it is is past the 1 year warranty and started doing this about a month ago, randomly and now it is every wash cycle.
The only way to finish the load is to run the Drain and Spin or Rinse and Spin Cycle. It is like is doesn't know how to complete the cycle. I am a single mom and I do not want to buy a new one (its still so new). Has anyone done a video on how to reset or fix this issue? Thanks in advance.
