Possibly needs new timer, as I have to constantly push in and pull out to get it to run

Something else you could try, Lubricate the timer shaft. Remove the dial and knob, pull out on the timer shaft, and squirt a little WD 40 or 3 in 1 oil on the shaft, and move the timer shaft in and out several times. It works on some models with a similar timer, it may work on yours. :) :) :)
