I attempted to fix what I thought was a fixable problem by a non-appliance mechanic. So far no good.

Problem: cycle works fine until the pump phase, here it just stops, no sound, nothing. Clogged tubing? nope, checked that, water drains manually just fine. Bad pump? maybe. Ordered one. Not the pump. OK, maybe the timer? Ordered and installed, no good.

 What's left before I dump what is probably a good washer dry combo. Plus it's way too heavy to drag to the dump.

Snuffy,

Do you hear the pump motor run in the drain cycle ?
(broken wire ?).

Is the drain hose properly installed to the drain pipe ?
(not sealed to the standpipe/ if the hose is sealed/ a clogged drain pipe would keep the washer from draining).

Try starting there, and see what happens.

:) :) :)

No sound from the pump at all even with the cover off. Drain lines are free. Wire at the bottom appears to be intact. I didn't test the power line to the pump with a meter.

Robert,

With all the work and parts you've done, and no noise or running pump,

Thats your next move,

Circuit check the wire(s) from end to end(pump terminal to timer terminal connection(closed circuit).

I personnally prefer to check voltage on the wire(s) to chassis ground until you find it or loose it(depending on the direction / component you start at.

If you decide to go with voltage checks , be CAREFUL of a shock hazard.

So when you had confirmed my fears of the problem probably being electrical I gave up. Yes I'm afraid I did. Please don't throw in your own towel of despair. I had to reflect on the way my 1 piece stackable washer/dryer joined our family. It was a cold desperate night 2 years ago when all else failed to get that darned thing in the narrow door of my poorly constructed prefabricated double wide. The surgery went well or so I thought, very few parts were left in the tray. She did smile and reassured me she was in no pain but 2 years later she went down.

I guess there was a pinched wire in this one that finally cut through. Where it is, no clue & I'll be darned that I'm going to search for it, so good by old faithful one, in with the new and out with the old, and good luck to whom ever is removing this one (for free), I'll be out in the yard listening to the grunts of the 2 that will struggle as I did that dark cold night, by myself, years ago.

Thanks you were a big help, my warrantee is up in 5 years so I'm sure I'll be writing again.

Glad to have helped,

Good Luck,
