My element was arcing, so I purchased this replacement. Part Details - MAYTAG Element, part number: 74003019However, when I received this replacement the tips are flat. On my existing element, the tips to connect the wires are crimped. Did I get the wrong part, or do I need to attach another way? I've tried getting the wires off the existing bad element to no avail...

Maytag changed design for this part. You have to replace the existing terminals with push-on female terminals.
Gene.
