Thanks! It was the Thermistor. Pretty simple to test. Saved a boatload I am sure.

My kenmore gas dryer won't fire. Everything up to the coils is good. I have 113v to the coils and only 16v to the igniter. Is this right? the igniter wont get hot at all. Are the coils shot? Help

Gene. Gene, I got the part and installed it. Turned the unit back on and the ignitor got red and whosh, the gas kicked in like a afterburner. It was truly a sight to behold. Your advice was spot on, as usual. Very happy I am not shopping for a local repairman or shopping for a new unit. The price was definitely right and the labor took maybe ten minutes. Most of it looking for a wrench to take the sheet metal screw off. Again, thank you for your insight and feedback.

Hi Gene, The problem is just like the original sender's. Dryer runs but no heat.
I have a Whirlpool LGR6634DQ0 which starts and runs fine, but burner does not ignite. How do I trouble shoot the problem, what order should I take in troubleshooting, and how do I get at each part (i.e. through the front or back, etc.). I recently replaced the timer and it has been working without problem for several months. Your help is greatly appreciated in advance. Bob

I have a Whirlpool/Roper Gas Dryer Model #RGX5634KQ2 . I have tried this on all of the cycles. Sometimes I get heat and other times no heat. I have taken the small cover off of the front and I can see that the igniter glows bright orange but no flame. What would cause this to happen? My husband wont let me buy a new dryer so any help would be great.
