That's the water sloshing around in the upper plastic tank attached to the top of the spin basket, that's supposed to be there to reduce shaking during spin. You already stated the coupler was hard to turn in spin direction, this indicates bad brakes.

I have replace the brakes, and i still have a problem with turning the coupling and having difficulties. Things i still notice, the clutch is full of black grease and the part inside the clutch that holds the spring is difficult to turn around. The brakes are against the wall which i would think would make it difficult to turn as well. Suggestions on what to try next? Shawn also can you tell me where the plastic piece of the brakes section found at http://www.************.com/Sma...artID=2670&PPStack=1 attaches to the clutch. does it move freely inside the clutch or does the slit attach to one of the ends of the round ring (the part where the spring attaches)?

Did you grind down the brake shoes as shown in my article. You need to remove 1/4 of the brake shoe pads to prevent dragging.
