I removed the ice bucket and disassembled it to replace the metal mounting plate that was rusted. I put it back together and put the ice bucket back in and it is not dispensing ice. With the bucket out, I push the ice cube button on the front door and the solenoid fork does lock and the dispenser trap door opens, but the auger motor hums and does not turn. The fridge was sitting for two months and the ice dispense used to work totally fine. Anyway, is this the correct way to check the operation of the auger motor? Advice on repairing the issue or the auger motor?

Remove the auger motor and check if it's frozen. Try to apply 120 VAC straight to the motor.

Thanks Gene. The motor, of course, is rusty because it sat for two months. It is not frozen, but I have sprayed it with WD40. My next plan was just that, too put 110v direct to the motor. Then I'll know if it's the motor or the relay or both. Thanks!

Ok. The motor runs perfect with 110 applied directly. The solenoid fork goes up when the unit is plugged into fridge. What's next?

Check for 120 VAC at the motor incoming wires while the dispenser control calls for ice (any kind) and the door light switch is depressed. Post the results.

Got it fixed. Cleaned connections, sprayed solenoid and motor with WD-40 (rusty from sitting 2 months). Put back together. Works great. Thanks Gene
