After the icemaker ejects the ice cubes and goes into the fill cycle, it overflows the tray with water and it comes pouring out into the ice basket and into the freezer causing icicles inside the freezer and causing the ice cubes in the basket to freeze together. I changed the dual water valves and it hasn't improved the situation. It makes ice just fine and ejects it fine. At first the problem occurred intermittently but now it occurs constantly. The problem seems related to a power outage we experienced recently. Could it be coincidental or due to a surge? Would appreciate your comments and recommendations.

Remove the ice maker front cover and, using an insulated piece of wire (14 GA), short test points "T" & "H" to run the motor. Leave the jumper in for a half of a revolution and remove it. The water valve should be energized in the last half of the revolution for 7.5 seconds.
Post the results.
Gene.

Thank you for your recommendations.
I energized the motor by shorting "T" and "H". The motor start point (blue mark on wheel) was at 5:30 position and the water valve started at approx. 2:00 position and ran for longer than 10 seconds. I estimate it ran for almost 20 seconds and overflowed the ice tray as usual. When the timer point reached the 2:00 position to energize the water valve there was some smoke coming from the wheel near the 2:00 position. The smoke smelled "electrical" in nature. :( The timer then continued on until the 5:30 position where it stopped.

Got the new ice maker installed. Took less than 15 minutes to install. Has been making ice for a day now with no overflow of water. Working great. Thanks Gene.:)
