Hi, I have a problem with my fridge/freezer unit.
I got home artef work today and my fridge light was off. Everything in the unit was dead. One of my breaker was also off. I tried to reset it but it did not want to until I disconnected my fridge.
I suspect a short in the electrical system. It must not have started so long ago because the freon tank is still warm.
Where can I start troubleshooting ?
Thanks.

Plug fridg. in another independent outlet to verify fridg problem. You probably have a shorted compressor. Remove back panel and remove cover on the side of compressor and pry off start relay and overload klixon. Now plug in fridg. It is now probably short free. If not you will need a meter to check things, and consider yourself lucky, your fridg. can be fixed.

Thanks for the quick advice. It does look like a short compressor. It will have to be serviced.

To save service call, just remove compressor side cover, pry off all components and check each pin for a short to ground.

The door on my ice maker despenser freezes shut and doesnt allow ice to flow into cup area. I think the seal has worn out and allows a thaw/freeze cycle. I have located part no. for door assembly(AP206445). Need installation instructions. Unit is a Kenmore 363.8587781, sn B82020860. Thanks for any help, wally38
