Hi All,
My Whirlpool dishwasher DU890SWLQ0 is acting up. The motor is not started, and the water does not drain.
The motor has 4 pins, I tested continuity on the motor and it seem to be fine.
Please advise what else do I need to test?

Hi Vua, Does the motor hums? If it does then the problem is a stuck pump which has to be replaced in such case. In order to do it the dishwasher has to be removed from the cabinet. - The part number for the pump & motor assembly is AP3044239 Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool dishwasher Model DU890SWLQ0Gene.

Hi Gene and All, thank you for your promptly replied. yes the motor was hum for a bit, and now it stays silence. Can you or anyone show me how to test this motor to make sure it is a dead motor.

Remove the torq screws holding down the pump cover and check for objects jamming the pump impeller.

You have to check for continuity between the "W-V" and "GY", "Y" & "BU-W". Check for 120VAC between the "BU-W" and neutral while the control calls for wash and the door is latched. Post the results. Gene. What I did was test the continuity between all 4 pins in the motor. Now can you elaborate about "W-V", "GY", "Y", "BU-W" Sorry for an amateur question, because I am one and still learning. Thanks v.

So is this normal or something wrong with the motor? I also tried to turn the motor impeller as in the image below in both direction, but it stuck after little moved. .

All right, I just took the motor and the pump apart, and now the motor impeller can freely turning just fine.
However something stuck inside the pump that won't let the pump freely turning. This pump is appears to be sealed, how can I look inside the pump to see what stuck in there.
