(new bug -I have a dryer that will not heat now.) It started out when you would push the start switch it would it would start but stop as soon as you released it. So we tried to tape the switch down. That worked but it would not heat. I replaced the thermistor and the push-to-start switch with the same result. Yesterday I ordered the Heat control assembly from you. It showed up today and I installed it. Now the dryer will start when the PTS button is pushed and stay running when released for about a minute. It seems when the dryer attempts to turn on the heat, the end of cycle timer beeps and the dryer turns off. If you turn it to the fluff cycle it will run to the end of timed cycle and if you turn the dial to any heat setting it will turn off and beep for end of cycle. I have tried the timed cycle and moisture sensing cycle with the same results. I have metered the heater coils and all the thermal switches. They are not open.

Looks like the last digit in the model number you posted is incorrect. Verify and repost it, please.
What is the part number for the heat control assembly you installed?

According to the paperwork that came with the dryer I needed a
3976632. I looked it up and it subbed to the following:
AP4319168 (W10116565) CNTRL-ELEC

Check the heater relay DC coil for continuity. Check for 48VDC to the heater relay while the control calls for heat.
Post your findings.

I measured the voltage at the heater relay and I had 0v DC instead of 48v. I still had the new Thermistor from from Sears in the dryer. It was bad. I put the original back in and it heats now.

The first step should be a thermistor test, but you said you already replaced it and I skipped to the relay test.
Anyway, I'm glad you were able to fix it. Have a nice holiday.
