I have had this machine not quite 24 mos. I am looking for part number or numbers. When you start the washer it seems fine then stops shows F1 and beeps. I have followed the manual but this is now happening with every washload. I have read this is common among many others but I refuse to deal with Sears anymore. If you have diagrams and any instructions that would be very appreciated! Thank you for your help!

I have the same problem. Bought this thanksgiving 2006! As I type I am running clorox through detergent, bleach and fab softener and it has not beeped!! Will let you know.

:eek: :eek: :eek: The Sears repair man just left my home with $345 and my 18 mo old washer now has a new computer. He tightened wires and pulled out every trick he knew and advised me to buy only the most simple of appliances. Also if I must have the computerized kind to add the extended warranty when looking at the price. He had been with Sears for decades and said they were no longer producing the same products with the same service as years ago. Now I have to go throw up.

Isn't it amazing how just out of warranty the darn thing starts breaking down. ARGH! Would you happen to have the part name(s) or numbers? I am going to try to DIY. I am so frustrated with the Sears customer service etc that I'd rather not use them at all. Thank you so much for responding! I really like this machine but this is ridiculous!

I am now getting the F1 error as well with my Oasis HE washer. It started right after my son accidentally put bleach into the detergent dispenser prior to running the load. Did the bleach cause the error I am now getting regularly? Some loads will run. Do I need to flush the detergent line real well maybe? Please help with any info you can. My warranty ran out a month ago....hmmmmmm.....

i have had my machine for about 2 1/2 yrs recently started with the f1 code have had no luck with sear web site. went to sears parts and found a diagram. think it may be the computer the part costs 168.00 and if i can replace it myself so much the better
will NEVER buy another kenmore product
guess sears can't build a decent appliance anymore that will last

There are four areas of concern that can cause the F1 Error Code. Each area must be sequentially addressed to ensure
that the diagnosis is correct and the proper repair is completed.
A) Air leaks in the air pressure (switch/sensor) hose.
a. Inspect the hose for cracks, pin-holes or loose connection.
b. Replace the hose and harness assembly (W10058730) if it is compromised.
B) Moisture in the air pressure (switch/sensor) hose.
a. Inspect the hose for evidence of water.
b. Replace the hose and harness assembly (W10058730) if water is detected.
C) Lint or flashing in the air dome hose connection port.
a. Inspect the air dome hose connection port for lint or flashing.
b. Use a small round device (small screwdriver) to ensure that there is nothing blocking the air dome outlet on
the tub.
D) The control needs to be replaced.
a. Replace the control only after

Here is a link to an incident report to the Consumer Product Safety Commission: Saferproducts.gov | Incident Report Details After you read the report, go to the top of the page and click on Report An Unsafe Product and fill out the form. In the Incident Description box give them your model and serial numbers and ask that they be included in the recall. If enough people let them know that ALL the models and serial numbers are having exactly the same problem as the ones in the recall, maybe they'll make Sears fix them all for free.

A common problem for the f1 code is only a bad connection on the motor position sensor. Tip the washer up and remove the motor magnetic field only one bolt, allen wrench, 4 more 9mm bolts and the motor armature will come out be careful not to let it fall to the floor. You will see a small circuit board with a half dozen or so brown wires going to it, remove the connector and clean the contacts, use a q tip with alcohol. This type of connector loses a good contact over time from vibrations causing low voltage. I have fixed mine twice now.
