Woke up this morning to find the freezer thawed. Sucks but moving on. I have been reading on here and a few others sites and they seem to point to a bad motherboard. I have pulled the unit out and pulled the back panels. here is what I have found:

No frost
Lower Fan running
Compressor not running
Lights are on in the unit
Digital readouts are on in the unit
Water and Ice makers work (if there was ice)

So based on all of this I am guessing my compressor is blown or hopefully the mobo is just bad.

Is there a way to test this tonight before I order the part in the morning?

Also It seems that there are lots of GE GSS25 models. But the this mobo seems to fit mine: AP4436216 Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks,
Josh

Josh,

Does the compressor click?

Does it warm on touch?

Does the fan next to compressor work?

If the compressor is cold on touch and does not make any noise, check for 120 VAC at the connector J7-9 (orange wire) to the terminal J8 (black wire) on the main control board.

If the reading is wrong, replace the main control board.

If the reading is correct, post the results.

- The main control board Part number: AP4436216
