My washing machine fills with water, but that's it; it does nothing else. The timer does not advance after filled with water or make any noises if i advance the timer to rinse it makes a soft electrical sound as if it was like an electrical overload sound.

Cougy,

The first thing I would check is the lid switch.

Open the control panel, unplug the lid switch harness plug, bypass the switch, run the washer and see if it'll work. If it will then the lid switch has to be replaced.

- The part number for the lid switch is AP3100001

Thank you for the quick response, I will try this tomorrow and hope to narrow the troubleshooting down a bit.

Awsome, that did the trick Gene! :D I inspected the lid switch and it turned out that the "box" or switch had started to come appart around the seal and was not making good contact. A temporary fix was putting a zip tie around to box to hold it together until the replacement part comes in. You sure saved us the grief and money because not knowing anything about washer we almost started shopping around for a new unit.

Thank you once again.:)
