My dishwasher is making a crackling sound when it's filling and draining with water. What could the problem be?

Hi Gene,

I have rechecked the model number: HSC3706J01WW - Hotpoint portable dishwasher. It was purchased brand new in 2005. In Canada if that matters.

thanks Gene. It would appear that this information isn't available even on canadian sites. I have gone directly to Hotpoints website (GE) and did an arcive search and it isn't even showing up there. Do you have any idea what would be causing this crackling sound when it's filling/draining the water. I thought that maybe some food got stuck or something but it doesn't seem to be going away. I have run the washer many times, and sometimes the crackling doesn't seem to be as loud or as long as other times. Can you tell me how i check to see if something is stuck somewhere in it.

Might be something got stuck inside and just vibrating?

I'm afraid there is something which is impossible to diagnose remotely.
