My Washing machine will not run a full cycle. At some point in the middle, it will stop and the display will read code "Lr" Which according to the owners manual means that the motor is not running properly. It gives no clue as to what they mean by "properly". Any help or pointing in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx, Joe

Denman, Thanks very much, that seems to have done the trick. Was able to make it all the way through the spin cycle without stopping. Not sure which particular connection was the problem, took both whites out, looked good, put all the way back in and firmly reset connector, works great!! Manual and tech bulliten made it very easy too.
Thank You,
Joe

You are welcome

And thanks for getting back to us. Now when others search for a similar problem they will see what actually worked instead of just suggestions about what could be the cause.

Sorry, Guess I was wrong. Will run a full spin cycle, 10 minutes long. Tried several times to run a regular cycle, washer stops somewhere and says "Lr" again. Definately does reach high speed spin, had access panel off on back and watched. Any other ideas? Did I miss something? I just messed with wires and connections at Water valves.
Thank You,
Joe

Since the unit seems to run OK it does sound like a bad/loose connection in the speed sensing circuit but finding it could be a pain.

Try disconnecting/reconnecting the plugs in this circuit.
Check for any signs of corrosion on the pins, often a dull gray or brown color.
Check the crimping to the pins in the plugs.

May not hurt to clean them with isopropyl alcohol or an electronics cleaner and a tooth brush. Just be sure to let all the solvent evaporate before reconnecting.

Sorry it took so long to reply. It does work on some cycles, on others, no luck. It seems somewhat time related, if I wash in Handwash heavy soil, a 60 min. cycle, it works fine. If I add presoak and/or stain cycle, I get Locked Rotor (LR). Below are my test results.
Type of wash Soil Level Cycle time OK or Lock Rot.
Handwash Light Soil 37 OK
Handwash Normal Soil 43 OK
Handwash Heavy Soil 60 OK
Delicates Light 39 OK
Delicates Normal 45 LR
Wrinkle Free Light 38 OK
W.F. Normal 44 LR
W.F. Heavy 62 LR
Cotton Light 41 LR
Cotton Normal 47 LR

The longer the cycle, the more likely it is to go to "LR", although Handwash/Heavy at 60 Min. works fine, Cotton/Light at 41 min. gets me Locked Rotor. Unsure why, but I can at least get the wash done somewhat.
