My Amana oven is beeping and showing an f1 code. Touchpad doesn't work, but burners do work. I pulled apart the multi-pin connection between the touchpad and ERC. The beeping and f1 code went away. The only thing happening in the display area is the clock keeps flashing the correct time.
Does this mean I should replace the touchpad instead of the ERC?
My model # is ACS7270AW and serial number is 10291413AN. Thank you very much.

You did most of the troubleshooting and you did it right. The touch pad (aka membrane switch) is bad and has to be replaced. In order to provide the right part number I need the color of the control panel. Here are the break down diagrams for the Amana range Model ACS7270AWGene.
