I have a Whirlpool Gold AccuBake 465 smooth top range. I have a dual burner on the front left that has gotten stuck on high. No matter if I turn it on the lowest setting, it heats to high. Usually the burners will turn red and fade in and out as the burner is on and heating. Now I notice the burner stays lit the whole time. Can anyone offer help on how my handy husband can look into fixing this for me? :)

Thanks so much for any help you can offer. You probably have a stuck or shorted infinite burner switch. But we need a model number to research and varify that. :)

I looked the range all over before I could find that model number! Finally, I found the sticker and it is: model GR460LXKT
If it is a infinite burner switch, is this accessed from the rear panel?

Thanks again!! You can access it from the back, but thats the hard way to go. Actually, you access it from the front of the control panel. First , turn off the power to the unit, or unplug the power cord Remove the screws across the top back, and the bottom corner front screws and "peel" the panel off towards the front. Remove the knob and the 2 screws, that hold the switch to the panel Switch wires, 1 at a time, and reverse procedure to reinstall panel and test. I believe this will be the switch you need. Part number: AP3086276

Joe M. APP TEAM,
I have a model # GR460LXKT with a dual burner issue. While on low (2) continues to heat at high. Removed the back cover and found Inf-switch (blue) with part number 8522887 stamped on it. What is the correct switch to order, AP3777761 (blue) or AP3086276?

PKJohnson PK, Your dual element switch for the Left Front element should be, Part number: AP3777761
Remember: ***Turn power off to the range,*** Remove the knob and switch for the panel, Switch wires from the old, to the new switch, Install new switch to control panel, Restore power and test burner/switch operation. Good Luck, :) :) :)
