Hello~
Our oven takes FOREVER to heat up. The igniter glows but there is no flame. My neighbor is convinced that there is no gas coming to the oven, because there is no gas smell. But in all the posts I've read, it seems that might not be the case. How do I test the igniter to see if it is bad?

Thanks in advance!

best way is to measure the resistance with an ohm meter.

Thanks for the quick reply!

What should the desired reading be?

Also, if it is bad, any idea on how to change the part ( AP172397)? Can it be accessed from the front, or do I need to pull the range out to access from the back?

Thanks again!

Here's the breakdown of your range Model ARG7303WW

You will need to remove the bottom floor of the oven, should be held in place by a couple of screws and it comes right out. You will then gain access to the ignitor. all this can be done from inside the oven

You should get a reading between 50 and 150ohms if it falls within that range it's good

Thanks so much for your help!

Ohms registered over 300. We were able to access the plug for the igniter under the range (pulled the drawer out and there was the access panel ~ just as you described).

Ordered the part and should be good to go! I really appreciate your help with this!
